Beach Time

I guess I like to wait to post until I can put up pictures. So, can I blame this way overdue post on the fact that I still haven't gotten the pics from our beach trip on this computer? Well, we went to the beach at the beginning of October with Vern's parents. They usually have access to a beach condo twice a year, and I've had the privilege of going with the Kivetts to the beach since the January before Vern and I started dating. This trip was Kyler's 3rd trip to the beach, and she was at a much better age to be able to enjoy the beach/ocean.

We had great weather at the start of our trip and were even able to splash in the ocean. Kyler loved chasing after birds, picking up shells, and meeting new doggie friends. After she became acclimated to the ocean, she liked to run up to meet the waves as they came on shore and have the water splash onto her feet and legs. She even sat down a couple times (which definitely gave her a soggy diaper because i didn't think we'd be swimming and didn't pack any water diapers).

Vern ended up having to go back during the middle part of our trip, which turned out to probably be the most memorable part of our trip. Kyler came down with a stomach bug sometime Sunday night and by Tuesday morning the rest of us seemed to pick it up. The worst of it was thankfully over after 24hrs. Vern's mom, Joyce, was such a trooper. Even though she had the bug too, she seemed to be taking care of all of us. By the time the adults got it, Kyler seemed better and had more energy than the rest of us combined. We were hoping that Vern might be able to avoid it. But it hit him once we were home for a couple days.
